🌱 Principle One

Nurture Your Child's Potential

At Oak Tree, we are committed to helping your child reach their full potential in a nurturing and loving environment. Our professional educators focus on unlocking each child’s unique potential through personalised care, encouragement, and a strong partnership with families.

Our approach focuses on:

  • Every child nurtured in a loving, warm environment
  • Providing positive reinforcement in every interaction
  • Building close partnerships with families in their child's growth
  • Weaving home life into the learning environment
  • Laying the foundation for lifelong confidence and self-esteem in the early years
🌳 Principle Two

Develop Their Sense of Self

We at Oak Tree believe that confidence comes when children are encouraged and develop self-help skills. We do this every day, whether it be at meal times, play or craft. We aim to provide an environment where children feel confident enough to explore yet safe enough to ask for help.

Our approach focuses on:

  • Building confidence through daily encouragement
  • Developing self-help skills at every mealtime and activity
  • Giving children the freedom to explore new ideas and make decisions
  • Creating a safe space where help is always available when needed
  • Balancing independence with loving support
✨ Principle Three

Turn Curiosity into Creating & Learning

Learning should be fun! Curious minds help us develop our curriculum. Your child's interests are our interests. At Oak Tree, our children learn through play, craft, singing, dancing and getting messy!

Our approach focuses on:

  • Craft, art and getting wonderfully messy
  • Singing, dancing and movement every day
  • Your child's interests shape our curriculum
  • Play-based learning is the primary approach
  • Joy is the engine of everything we do
In Practice

How our philosophy comes to life every day

Philosophy is only meaningful when it shows up in real moments. Here’s how our three core principles shape the daily experiences at Oak Tree, from 7 am to 6 pm.

🌅 Morning arrival

Every child is greeted warmly by name. Our educators take the time to review daily notes, ensuring they connect with each child’s world, whether it’s their favourite toy or something special they’re excited about.

🎯 Intentional learning

Our EYLF-trained educators plan activities with clear, observable outcomes, not to test children, but to stretch their thinking, spark curiosity and celebrate what they discover.

🎨 Creative exploration

Each day includes unstructured creative time with activities like paint, clay, blocks, play, sand and water, where there are no right or wrong answers, just discovery, expression, and pure joy.

🌳 Outdoor learning

The outdoor environment is an extension of our philosophy. Fresh air, physical challenge, nature observation and cooperative play develop the whole child in ways no indoor space can replicate.
