Why it matters

Active bodies, curious minds

Research consistently shows that children who move more, play outdoors and engage with nature develop stronger concentration, resilience, coordination and social skills. At Oak Tree, our extracurricular program is built around this belief.

Every activity is age-appropriate, specialist-led where needed, and woven into the rhythm of each child's day. From kicking a ball to harvesting their own vegetables, these are experiences that shape who children become.

Soccer Joeys Fitness Program

Our most-loved weekly extracurricular, a specially designed football and fitness program for young children that builds confidence, coordination and a lifelong love of being active. Soccer Joeys sessions are structured to grow the whole child, not just their football skills. Every session includes warm-up fitness activities, age-appropriate ball drills, mini-game situations and a cool-down.

  • Fundamental ball control, kicking and dribbling skills
  • Timing, spatial awareness and body coordination
  • Understanding game rules, fairness and taking turns
  • Fitness habits and a joy in being active
  • Resilience when things don't go to plan
  • Positive self-talk and encouragement of peers
Our signature garden program

Paddock to Plate Garden

One of the most unique and beloved parts of life at Oak Tree, our Paddock to Plate garden teaches children where food really comes from, from seed to plate.

  • We plant together - Children get their hands in the soil, planting seeds and seedlings of seasonal fruits, vegetables and herbs in our garden beds.
  • We water and tend - Responsibility is woven into the program. Children take turns watering, weeding and monitoring their plants
  • We harvest - When the time is right, children harvest what they have grown. The pride on a child's face when they pick their first tomato or pull their first carrot is something special.
