What Safety looks like at Oak Tree

Safety at Oak Tree means much more than locked gates and sign-in sheets. It means children feel emotionally safe to take risks, make mistakes and ask for help. It means families feel completely confident in the care their child receives every day.

We provide an environment where children, families and our colleagues feel safe, connected and confident enough to be themselves. Safety is physical, emotional and relational — it means every person at Oak Tree can show up as they truly are.

🔐 Physical security

Every arrival and departure is signed and timed. Only authorised people can collect your child. No exceptions. Your child's physical safety is non-negotiable.

💚 Emotional safety

Children are encouraged to explore, make mistakes and ask for help without fear of judgment. A psychologically safe environment builds confidence and allows them to grow freely.

🥗 Freshly cooked meals every day

Five nutritious meals, freshly prepared on-site daily. Safe food handling, allergy protocols and NSW Health compliance, safety is a priority in every bite.

😴 Safe sleep practices

We follow SIDS & Kids' safe sleeping recommendations for all children. Rest time is calm, individual and handled with the utmost care by our trained educators.

We aim to provide an environment where children feel confident to explore new ideas and make their own decisions, but also feel safe enough to be able to ask for help when a little assistance is needed.

🎨 Getting messy with art & craft

Paint on hands, glue everywhere and clay on noses — this is what joyful learning looks like. We celebrate mess because it means children are completely engaged.

🌱 Paddock to Plate Garden

Children take part in our ‘Paddock to Plate’ garden, where they grow their own vegetables, connecting with nature while learning about healthy eating and sustainability.

🌳 Outdoor discovery

Children explore the outdoors, engage in physical play and team games. This helps them build stronger bonds, creative minds, and resilience, all while enjoying the fresh air and natural surroundings.

⚽ Soccer Joeys Fitness Program

Children participate in the Soccer Joeys Fitness program, developing their fitness, coordination, and teamwork through fun and active sessions.

Learning should be fun! Curious minds help us develop our curriculum. Your child's interests are our interests. At Oak Tree, our children learn through play, craft, singing, dancing and getting messy!
