1. Create a myGov account
You'll need a myGov account linked to Centrelink to apply for CCS. If you already have one, skip ahead.
2. Confirm your family's CRN
Both you and your child need a Centrelink Customer Reference Number (CRN). If your child doesn't have one, you'll need to register them with Centrelink first.
3. Submit your CCS claim via myGov
Log into myGov β Centrelink β Payments & Claims β Make a Claim β Child Care Subsidy. You'll be asked about your income, hours and activity test.
4. Provide your CRN to Oak Tree
Once approved, share your CRN and your child's CRN with our admin team. We'll link them to your enrolment and the subsidy will be applied automatically.
5. Pay only your gap fee
The government pays their portion directly to Oak Tree. You are invoiced fortnightly for the gap amount only β typically a fraction of the full fee.
Your CCS rate is based on three factors:
CCS applies from your child's first day of care once your claim is approved and your CRN is linked to our system. We recommend applying at least 2β4 weeks before your child's start date to avoid delays.
Our admin team at both centres is experienced in helping families navigate the CCS process. Don't hesitate to call or pop in we're happy to sit down with you and work through it together.
As early as possible, ideally at least 4 weeks before your child starts. CCS is not backdated, so applying late may mean missing out on rebates for the first few weeks. Our team can guide you through the process.
Your child can still begin care, however full fees will apply until your CCS is approved. Once processed, the subsidy will be applied to future invoices. We always recommend applying early to avoid this.
Yes. Oak Tree Early Learning Centres, both Sylvania and West Pymble, are approved CCS providers. Your subsidy applies at either centre your child attends.
The CCS applies to the full daily fee, which already includes meals, programs, and materials. There are no additional charges for included services.
Yes. The government provides a higher subsidy rate for second and subsequent children in care, which can reduce your overall fees. Check Services Australia for current details.
You should update your income estimate through myGov as soon as possible. Your CCS percentage will be adjusted accordingly, with a reconciliation completed after your tax return is lodged.
Yes, this can be arranged with your centre coordinator, subject to availability and notice. Your CCS hours are based on your activity level, not just the number of days booked.
Many families in these situations are eligible for CCS, and in some cases, higher subsidy rates may apply. Our team is happy to help you understand what you may be entitled to.
