A Boutique Early Learning Centre Worth the Short Drive

Welcome Hurstville families

If you've been searching for childcare in Hurstville and want something smaller, warmer and more personal than the big corporate centres, Oak Tree Early Learning Centre is worth the trip across the bridge.

Our boutique childcare centre at 100 Holt Road, Sylvania is around 12 to 15 minutes from Hurstville, and many of the families we care for travel from Hurstville, South Hurstville, Blakehurst, Penshurst, Oatley and surrounding St George suburbs every day.

Founded in 2012, our centre offers a nurturing, safe and engaging environment for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. Because we're a small, family-owned and operated centre, every child is truly known; by name, by nature and by need.

Common Questions from Hurstville Families

No, our centre is in Sylvania, just across Tom Ugly's Bridge, around a 12–15 minute drive from Hurstville. Many Hurstville families choose us because a boutique, family-owned early learning centre with small group sizes is hard to find, and the short drive is well worth it.

Absolutely. We encourage it! Watching your child explore the rooms is often the most reassuring part of any visit.

Usually 30–45 minutes, depending on how many questions you have. We never rush.

Yes. Our EYLF-aligned Preschool and Practical Preschool Programs help children develop early literacy, numeracy, independence, emotional regulation and social skills before starting kindergarten.

The Preschool Practical Program is Oak Tree's school-readiness curriculum for children aged 3–5. It focuses on real-world life skills alongside literacy, numeracy and social development. Rather than academic drilling, children learn through practical activities, collaborative projects and structured play that mirrors what they will encounter in their first year of school. Local primary school teachers consistently notice the preparation in Oak Tree graduates.

Yes. Oak Tree includes specialist programs in the fees, so families can access extra learning opportunities without unexpected add-on costs.

Yes. Our educators work closely with families to support toilet training at each child’s individual pace, using a calm and consistent approach.

Yes. We're a CCS-approved provider, and eligible families can receive up to 90% off their childcare fees. Our team can help you understand your entitlement and set up your enrolment through myGov.

Not at all. Many families tour months before they need care. Come whenever you're curious; there's no pressure.
